About this project
The main aim of this project is to help stroke survivors to perform home exercises properly. How are we ensuring the correct execution of those exercises? We have created easy-to-follow video tutorials for you to watch and try out yourself! You can find those on the exercises page.

Our Research
Stroke 'n Go has been established during the final phase of our undergraduate studies in Physiotherapy. Prior to the start of Stroke 'n Go, extensive research has been conducted by both team members. The research looked into exercises for improving physical functionality, as well as the adherence to home-exercise programs, for stroke patients.

The main conclusions we could draw from our research were...

1) the home exercises presented on this website provide the same long-term benefits for stroke recovery compared to additional exercises (together with conventional physiotherapy), such as sling exercise therapy, treadmill based training, land-based and aquatic trunk exercises, or total FIT-Stroke programme.

2) the use of exercise programmes is leading to physical, functional, and quality of life improvements for stroke patients. The implementation of video-guided exercises shows high adherence and time spent on physical activity.

3) in order to improve the adherence, it is important to know what must be done, how it must be done, and why it has to be done. Moreover, social support from close family and friends is crucial.
